The Community Life Committee Welcomes You to Moody
Point
Enclosed you will find helpful information that will help you become familiar with
what goes on at Moody Point, socially and practically. If you are like many of us you may have
not had time to tackle the bylaws of the MPCA or your association. We hope that these quick notes will get
you up to date on some of the most pertinent information. All of the information regarding
events, meetings, emergencies, board meeting minutes etc. is communicated over
the internet. If you have not
already done so send an email to our MPCA President, Jim Fitzpatrick, at: samuel.fitzpatrick@comcast.net
Jim will put your email address on the master list. You can also find information posted on our Bulletin Board,
located near the dumpsters, or on our website: www.MoodyPoint.org .
Some things you should know that help make it easier to live
at Moody Point are:
- Recycling is picked up by the Town of Newmarket early
on most Monday mornings. You simply leave your bin of
recyclables at the end of the driveway. The bins may be purchased at Town Hall. They also have a schedule for
pick-ups when Monday is a holiday.
- Larger
items to be recycled, such as cardboard boxes, may be broken down and left
in small easily handled bundles on Mondays or may be taken to the town
dump on Ash Swamp Road. This
dump is open only on Saturdays.
Please NEVER put cardboard in the dumpsters.
- The
dumpsters are to be used ONLY for household trash. It should be in plastic bags and
should not be anything of a large size such as a lamp, old furniture etc.
- If you
have a dog, please be aware that all dogs must be walked on a leash. The Newmarket town law calls for no leashes over 6 feet
and no extendable leashes. In
all cases when you walk your dogs it is imperative that you pick up after
them!
- Although
it looks perfect for ice skating, and sometimes swimming, our fire pond is
unfortunately, off limits due to liability. Our insurance company will not let us use this pond for any
recreation.
- Please
be aware that most of the land closest to the water is MPCA owned, Lot
4. This property is
environmentally sensitive.
The NH Department of Environmental Services (DES) has lots of
strict guidelines on trespassing and trimming in these areas. If you stick to the pathways and
don’t use your clippers you will be fine.
- Our
screen house has its own set of guidelines. Please read your bylaws or ask a Community Life member
what they are.
Keep your eyes out for many Moody
Point activities such as community wide parties, “Timely Topic” events, the “Friday
night BYO” social, “Women’s Night Out”, and many other activities during the year. All events should appear on your email,
the web and the Bulletin Board.
